Privacy
redextape runs in your browser. The compiler, the λ reducer, the Turing machine and the editors' language server all run on this page, so nothing you type is sent anywhere.
- The site sets no cookies and runs no analytics.
- Everything it loads — the code, the WebAssembly and the fonts — comes from this site; nothing comes from another host.
-
A share link carries the program in the part of the address after
#, which a browser never sends to a server. Whoever you give the link to can read the program in it. - Like any website, the server and Cloudflare, which sits in front of it, receive each request: your IP address, the page asked for and your browser's user agent.
What the app keeps in your browser
So that a reload finds things as you left them, the app keeps these in your browser's local storage, on this device only. Clearing the site's data removes them.
